KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 2 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's achievement in securing third place at the WorldSkills Asia (WSA) Taipei 2025 proves that the nation's Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) youth possess world-class skills and are capable of competing with the best countries in Asia.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the success is another sweet moment for Malaysia and elevates the dignity of TVET as a driver of national skills to a higher level regionally.

"Congratulations and well done to the entire national contingent for successfully elevating Malaysia to third place in WorldSkills Asia Taipei 2025.

"Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God), another sweet and proud achievement for Malaysia, thus proving that our TVET youth possess world-class skills and are capable of standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the best countries in Asia," he said in a Facebook post today.

Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Chairman of the National TVET Council, said the victory opens a new chapter in the country's skills development and demonstrates the great potential of TVET as a strategic sector for the future.

"Malaysia Boleh! (Malaysia can!) You've made Malaysia proud!" he said.

Yesterday, the media reported that the Malaysian contingent finished the challenge at WSA Taipei 2025 by winning 17 medals overall, including five gold, five silver, four bronze, and three Medallions for Excellence.

A total of 25 national TVET participants competed in the event, which took place from Nov 27 to 30, further strengthening Malaysia's reputation in the field of skills.

This year's Taipei edition saw the participation of over 500 participants from more than 35 Asian countries and regions, making it one of the largest skills competitions in the region.
