MELAKA, Dec 3 (Bernama) – The Melaka state government is stepping up efforts to drive industrial development through the Melaka Industrial Booster (MIB), a one-stop centre designed to streamline investment processes and accelerate the growth of industrial zones across the state.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said MIB was established to ensure industry players no longer face long delays caused by bureaucratic procedures by bringing together 29 agencies under one roof.
“Our goal is to make sure industry players do not have to wait unnecessarily due to bureaucracy. To date, 72 companies have successfully used the MIB system to expedite various processes in Melaka, including land transfers, ownership approvals, and start-of-work procedures.
“We are fully leveraging this mechanism to provide stronger support for investors coming into Melaka,” he told the press after officiating the Chief Minister’s Industrial Excellence Award (CMIEA) 2025 at Banda Hilir last night.
He added that MIB has facilitated 72 projects at various stages of development, highlighting the state’s commitment to creating a business-friendly and efficient industrial ecosystem.
Ab Rauf emphasised that industrial development must yield tangible benefits for the people.
“Investors continue to view Melaka as an ideal choice to expand their industries, and through the MIB, we believe we can further enhance support and confidence for continued investment in the state,” he said.
The awards ceremony saw Medivest Sdn Bhd, a healthcare facilities management company, and CSC Steel Sdn Bhd win the top honours, taking home the Chief Minister’s Award.
Medivest also received the Services Sector Excellence Award, while CSC Steel was awarded the Manufacturing Sector Excellence Award.
The 2025 edition marks a significant return for CMIEA after 10 years, featuring five prestigious awards and reaffirming Melaka’s commitment to celebrating industrial excellence.
This year’s CMIEA assessment follows the Malaysia Business Excellence Framework (MBEF), guided by the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), ensuring a fair, transparent and internationally benchmarked evaluation process.
A total of 12 companies participated in the programme, showcasing the strength and diversity of Melaka’s industrial sector. Participants included MFS Technology, HM Jaya, CGN Edra, Master Tech Wire & Cable, MITCH, Medivest, Wahdah Technologies, Konsep Karisma, Julie’s, CSC Steel, MITC, and Panglima Power.
