KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 5 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in Kedah arrested a Perikatan Nasional (PN) Member of Parliament yesterday afternoon for investigation over a case involving a state government-owned cattle farming joint venture.
According to sources, the investigation, which has been ongoing since February, involves allegations of receiving about RM400,000 in return for assisting in securing land usage rights for the feedlot project.
“An investigation paper was opened following a complaint received on Feb 10, and statements have been recorded from 15 witnesses,” said one source.
MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed the arrest, stating that the individual was questioned under Section 53(3) of the MACC Act 2009 and released on bail.
