KANGAR, Dec 8 (Bernama) -- A total of 1,258.03 tonnes of flood waste were recorded at the Rimba Mas Solid Waste Disposal Site near here through the implementation of the Post-Flood Cleanup Operations Task Force, which involved cleanup work in 116 areas in Perlis from Nov 29 until yesterday.
The Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing Corporation (SWCorp) stated in a press release today that the cleanup work covered 8,910 premises within the solid waste management corporation's operating areas in the state that were affected by the floods.
"The implementation of this operation involved 189 task force personnel and the use of machinery, namely 53 mini armroll units and 12 backhoe units, which were coordinated and monitored by the SWCorp Enforcement Division," according to SWCorp.
SWCorp reported that through the task force operation, post-flood cleanup work in the SWCorp service areas could be carried out comprehensively, systematically, and continuously to ensure that the affected areas are rehabilitated, fully operational, and safe and clean to inhabit.
SWCorp implemented the task force in collaboration with the concession company, Environment Idaman Sdn Bhd.
