SEA Games Thailand 2025: News-In-Brief (Dec 14)

BANGKOK, Dec 14 (Bernama) -- The following are brief updates on Malaysian athletes in action at the SEA Games Thailand 2025 today:

 

WUSHU

 

National wushu athlete, Clement Ting secured a bronze medal in men’s changquan-daoshu-gunshu event after recording a total score of 29.238 points at the Chaeng Watthana Government Complex here.

Clement scored 9.766 points in changquan, 9.706 points in daoshu and 9.766 points in gunshu.

Indonesia’s Marvelo Edgar Xavier claimed the gold medal with a total score of 29.349 points, while his compatriot Siregar Seraf Naro took silver after amassing 29.246 points.

ROAD CYCLING

 

National cyclist Nur Aishah Mohamad Zubir managed to win silver in women’s criterium road finals at the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy in Nakhon Nayok, about 92 kilometres (km) and almost a two-hour drive from the city centre.

Home cyclist Jutatip Maneephan claimed gold while Nguyen Thi That from Vietnam secured the bronze.

Two other national cyclists - Nurul Nabilah Mohd Asri and Intan Suraya Tokiman - came in fourth and 12th place respectively.

Meanwhile, national men’s team trial squad comprising Muhammad Ameer Ahmad Kamal, Muhammad Nur Aiman Rosli,  Wan Abdul Rahman Hamdan, Zhe Yie Khee and Muhammad Zawawi Azman, missed out on a podium finish after finishing fourth with a time of one hour, 18 minutes and 30 seconds (s).

Indonesia took home gold (1:13.20s) followed by silver for Thailand (1:14.31s) and the Philippines claimed bronze (1:16.08s).

 

TABLE TENNIS

 

Malaysian paddlers brought home two bronzes in the men’s and women’s team event at the Central Westgate in Nonthaburi.

The men’s team fell to Vietnam 0-3 in the semi-finals, while the women’s squad suffered a slim 2-3 defeat to the home team.

The result saw the national men’s team share bronze medal with the Philippines, who lost 1-3 to defending champions Singapore.

Meanwhile, the women’s team shared bronze with the Philippines, following their 0-3 loss to Singapore.
