LENGGONG, Dec 15 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) has fully completed 13 community projects in Kampung Bukit Sapi here, involving an allocation of RM1.1 million under the MADANI Village Adoption initiative.
KKDW Secretary-General Datuk Muhd Khair Razman Mohamed Annuar said the physical projects implemented included upgrades to religious schools, river bridges, rural clinics, farm roads, mosques, suraus and community halls, as well as the installation of solar street lights and improvements to school infrastructure.
He said the non-physical projects comprised gotong-royong activities to enhance community engagement, the Mobile Rural Community Centre Programme and the Student Motivation Programme.
For the solar street lighting project, Muhd Khair Razman said KKDW implemented a Solar Lamp Pilot Programme involving the installation of 30 solar lights at a cost of about RM40,000 through gotong-royong activities with students and volunteers from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP).
“In addition, KKDW is also implementing the Dream Home Electrical Maintenance Programme involving 25 houses, with an allocation of RM40,000, aimed at improving electrical safety in the homes of the B40 group,” he said when met at the “Kenduri Rakyat Desa MADANI 2025” programme here today.
For school infrastructure projects, he said a total of RM100,000 has been allocated for Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Sapi under the MADANI Village Adoption initiative, with a focus on improving basic facilities and learning equipment for the school.
“This will help create a more conducive learning environment and benefit students,” he said.
Commenting on the village adoption initiative, Muhd Khair Razman said the programme aims to improve basic facilities, support educational development and enhance the quality of life of rural communities.
“Such initiatives must be continued to ensure rural and village areas are not left behind compared to urban areas,” he added.
