Cabinet Reshuffle: Eight Ministers, 10 Deputies Change Portfolios

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 16 (Bernama) -- The Cabinet reshuffle announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today sees portfolio changes involving eight ministers and 10 deputy ministers.

Hannah Yeoh, who previously helmed the Ministry of Youth and Sports, has been appointed as Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories), while Minister of Plantation and Commodities Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani has been tasked with heading the Ministry of Trade, Investment and Industry.

Steven Sim Chee Keong also changes portfolio, from Minister of Human Resources to Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development; while Senator Dr Zulkifli Hassan, previously the Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), has been appointed as its minister.

Meanwhile, Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir, who previously held the post of Deputy Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, has been appointed as Minister of Economy; and Datuk Seri Arthur Joseph Kurup, previously Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, has been appointed to helm the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability.

The reshuffle also sees former Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad appointed as Minister of Plantation and Commodities, and former Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Datuk Seri R. Ramanan replacing Sim as Human Resources Minister.

Former Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Liew Chin Tong has been appointed Deputy Finance Minister; Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Mohamad, previously Deputy Human Resources Minister, has been made Deputy Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation;

Datuk Chan Foong Hin, the former Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities, takes over as Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security; Datuk Lukanisman Awang Sauni, previously the Deputy Health Minister, now holds the post of Deputy Foreign Minister.

Former Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying is now the Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development; Adam Adli Abd Halim, the former Deputy Youth and Sports Minister, has been made Deputy Minister of Higher Education.

Former Deputy Economy Minister Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib has been appointed Deputy Health Minister; Datuk Mohamad Alamin, formerly the Deputy Foreign Minister, is now the Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development.

Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii, who was previously Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Sustainability, has been appointed as Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodties; and former Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan now holds the post of Deputy Minister of Human Resources.
