KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 19 (Bernama) -- Venture capital firm 500 Global announced it has been selected to support Morocco’s Startup Venture Building (VB) initiative, a flagship programme under the government’s Digital Morocco 2030 strategy, marking a further expansion of the firm’s footprint across Africa.

The initiative, led by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform and deployed by TAMWILCOM, aims to accelerate high-potential founders by combining training, early-stage financing and global market access to strengthen Morocco’s digital and innovation competitiveness.

“Our experience across emerging markets shows ecosystems grow fastest when public-sector leadership and private-sector expertise move in lockstep,” said 500 Global partner Demola Adegbite, who is the lead of its Africa venture investments.

Adegbite added that Morocco is well positioned to serve as a bridge between Africa, the Middle East and Europe, adding that the programme will connect local founders to global growth networks as they scale.

The firm in a statement said the partnership builds on more than a decade of activity across Africa, where it has focused on strengthening early-stage venture ecosystems and improving access to capital for emerging founders.

As an implementation partner, 500 Global will support founders through capability-building, access to its international network and early-stage capability development, helping translate public-sector ambitions into scalable private-sector outcomes.

500 Global said its broader Africa strategy focuses on pairing private capital with talent development, infrastructure and policy support, as governments across the continent pursue technology-led growth ahead of 2030.
