SEREMBAN, Dec 22 (Bernama) -- Investigations into the discovery of a woman’s body found inside a bag buried at a house in Kampung Batu 4, Pedas, Rembau are now nearing completion.
Negeri Sembilan Deputy Police Chief SAC Muhammad Idzam Jaafar said the main suspect, aged 51, was taken to the house last night to complete evidence for the case.
He said no further arrests have been made so far and investigations are being finalised before the case is referred to the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) for prosecution.
“Yesterday, the main suspect was brought to the location where the body was found as part of procedures to complete the investigation, but no items were seized,” he told reporters here today.
Muhammad Idzam said although the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) results of the body would take about three months, police would still proceed with prosecution by taking into account the suspect’s statement.
The media previously reported that the body of a woman was found inside a bag buried behind an unoccupied house in Kampung Batu 4 last Thursday.
Following the discovery, police detained two men aged 51 and 41 to assist in investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
The woman’s identity has yet to be confirmed due to the decomposed condition of the body, which is believed to have been deceased for more than three days.
The woman is believed to have been killed at a house in Ampang, Selangor, before her body was placed in a bag and buried at the village.
It was also reported that investigations found the woman had been strangled following an argument with the 51-year-old suspect at the victim’s house.
