MOSCOW, Jan 3 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- Mexico's National Seismological Service (SSN) reported 936 aftershocks following a magnitude 6.5 earthquake, according to Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
"The National Seismological Service recorded 936 aftershocks from the magnitude 6.5 quake," the SSN said on X late Friday.
On Friday, Mexico City Mayor Clara Brugada reported 12 injuries in the capital from the earthquake.
The National Seismological Service had earlier said the 6.5-magnitude tremor struck Guerrero state in southern Mexico. Shaking was also felt in Morelos, Jalisco, Oaxaca, Tabasco, and Colima states.
