Azizulhasni Strikes Gold At ASEAN Track Series President’s Cup 1

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 8 (Bernama) -- National track cycling ace Datuk Azizulhasni Awang continued his impressive form at the ASEAN Track Series (President’s Cup) 1 by clinching the elite men’s keirin title at the National Velodrome here today.

Nicknamed “The Pocket Rocketman”, the rider who competed under Team Azizul secured the gold medal after edging out Indonesia’s Dika Alif Dhentaka, while Hong Kong’s To Cheuk Hei claimed the bronze.

Two other Malaysian representatives, Muhammad Ridwan Sahrom and Muhammad Fadhil Mohd Zonis, who also featured in the keirin final, finished fourth and fifth respectively.

Meanwhile, in the elite women’s keirin event, national rider Nurul Alyssa Farid emerged champion after defeating compatriot Nurul Izzah Izzati Mohd Asri, who settled for silver, while Hong Kong’s Cho Yiu Yeung took the bronze.
