KUALA NERUS, Jan 14 (Bernama) -- Terengganu FC (TFC) acting head coach Tengku Hazman Raja Hassan praised his team's performance after defeating DPMM FC 1-0 at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium (SSMZA) last night.
The 48-year-old coach said that despite being exhausted due to the tight match schedule, the players still displayed a high fighting spirit and did not give up to ensure victory for the Turtles.
He said the victory would be a catalyst and a source of inspiration for TFC to continue creating success in the upcoming match series.
"I think tonight in terms of play, passing and overall I am satisfied. Even though we only returned from Kuala Lumpur two days ago, the players gave their best performance and high commitment.
"It was obvious that the players were tired. "I thank all the players for the second win tonight," he said after the Super League match against DPMM FC at SSMZA last night.
In addition, Tengku Hazman also commended new import midfielder Panshanbe Ehsoni who was able to adapt quickly with the team.
Meanwhile, DPMM FC coach Jamie McAllister said that despite losing, he was still satisfied with the high fighting spirit shown by the players from the beginning to the end of the game.
According to him, weaknesses in the final attack zone caused the team to fail to create any goals despite having several opportunities.
"I thought we lacked a little bit of quality in the final third of decision-making. We had some good chances in the first half and it was just decision-making or execution that let us down.
"But overall, I was happy with the attitude and fight from players. But the positive side we were good as a unit, as a team and we defended well. Haimie (goal keeper) also made a couple of good saves," he said.
