Sunway Pyramid 'Gallops Into Prosperity’ With Prosperous Celebration

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 16 (Bernama) -- Sunway Pyramid has rolled out its Chinese New Year celebrations themed ‘Galloping Into Prosperity’, featuring cultural performances, interactive installations and shopper rewards in conjunction with the Year of the Horse.

The festive campaign highlights the significance of family reunions and shared moments traditionally associated with the Chinese New Year, blending modern and traditional elements across the mall’s main concourse.

A key attraction is a giant rotating carousel lantern known as Zǒu Mǎ Dēng, featuring six colourful galloping horses designed by art lecturers from Sunway University, representing joy and good fortune for the year ahead.

Visitors can also take part in interactive experiences such as drawing fortunes at the Fortune House of Blessings and capturing festive moments at the Lanternlight Photobooth.

Senior General Manager of Sunway Pyramid, Sunway Giza and Sunway Square, Jason Chin, said the Year of the Horse symbolises strength, momentum and progress, which align with the mall’s focus on growth and community engagement.

“These values resonate strongly with our approach at Sunway Pyramid, as we continue to evolve our mall to serve our communities better.

“As we usher in the Lunar New Year, we are honoured to be part of these festive moments where traditions are kept alive, and new memories are created,” he said in a statement.

This year, Sunway Pyramid also adds a new dimension to the festivities with a collaboration featuring family content creator, The Kuans.

For the first time, The Kuans’ Chinese New Year music video sets will be replicated across Sunway Pyramid, adding more excitement to the mall’s celebration. Through a lucky draw, the Kuan Family will also be selecting those who film a dance cover of any 2026 CNY songs by the Kuan Family at any checkpoint to win exclusive prizes, including Kuan Family Angpow.

The celebrations will be further enlivened by acrobatic lion dance and drum performances held on selected weekends and public holidays, alongside festive bazaars and pop-up stalls offering seasonal treats and hampers.

Shoppers can also enjoy Prosperous Redemptions, where qualifying purchases may be exchanged for festive rewards.
