1.BORDER BARRIERS THWART FAMILIES RETURN -- AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESSE

After the border conflict with Thailand, about 4,000 Cambodian families are still unable to return home. Barbed-wire fences and shipping containers are blocking their return.

 

2.FINANCIAL RELIEF FOR SUFFERING SOLDIERS  -- AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESSE

The Cambodia Microfinance Association announced its members will waive interest on loans to help soldiers and families affected by the border conflict with Thailand. The institution has implemented financial relief and humanitarian assistance to ease their burden.

A woman who sued two hospitals for negligence over the amputation of her mother’s leg has been ordered to pay costs totalling over $975,000 to the defendants. The case was dismissed by the High Court.

Vietnam is experiencing one of the fastest-growing ageing populations in the world. By 2050, about 25 per cent of its population is expected to be aged 60 or older due to low fertility rates and rising life expectancy.

 

2.OVERSEAS INVESTMENT TOUCH RM6 BILLION -- VIETNAMPLUS

Vietnam’s outbound investment last year crossed RM6 billion (US$1.4 billion) with investments in 36 countries. Investments were mostly in manufacturing, electricity generation and wholesale and retail trade.
