BEIJING, Jan 17 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- The following are the indices of major stock markets worldwide on Saturday, according to Xinhua.

United States (Friday)

The S&P 500 Index closed at 6,940.01 points, down 4.46 points, or 0.06 per cent.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 49,359.33 points, down 83.11 points, or 0.17 per cent.

The Nasdaq Composite Index closed at 23,515.39 points, down 14.63 points, or 0.06 per cent.

Europe (Friday)

The DAX Index closed at 25,297.13 points, down 55.26 points, or 0.22 per cent.

The FTSE 100 Index closed at 10,235.29 points, down 3.65 points, or 0.04 per cent.

The Paris CAC 40 closed at 8,258.94 points, down 54.18 points, or 0.65 per cent.
