KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 22 (Bernama) -- Masjid Warisan, a garden-concept mosque with MADANI-inspired architecture to be built on Jalan Davis opposite Menara Exchange, is set to become a new landmark in the capital.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Dr Zulkifli Hasan, said the RM60 million mosque is expected to break ground this year and be completed by 2028.

He said Masjid Warisan, to be built on a 4.6-acre site, will accommodate over 6,000 worshippers at a time and serve nearly 10,000 in the surrounding Menara Exchange area.

Insya-Allah, it will be built using the latest green technologies, in line with modern needs, including making it easier for worshippers from nearby offices and premises to attend without having to drive.

“We will ensure the project stays on track, and that only credible contractors are appointed,” he told reporters after visiting the construction site here today.

Also present was Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) chairman Datuk Syed Kamarulzaman Syed Kabeer.
