Six-month Old Baby Boy Found Dead At Home In Air Itam

GEORGE TOWN, Jan 26 (Bernama) -- A six-month old foreign baby boy was found unconscious at a flat in Air Itam here today by his parents before he was pronounced dead.

Timur Laut district police chief Supt Lee Swee Sake said the police received a public tip-off about the incident at 8.55 am and preliminary investigations revealed the baby was found unconscious on the bed in the bedroom by his parents around 7 am.

“There were no criminal elements and the baby had a history of medical issue with his lungs.

"The results of an autopsy by the Penang Hospital forensics department did not detect any criminal elements,” he said in a statement tonight.

The case has been classified as a sudden death and a sudden death report has been opened to conduct further investigations, he added.
