KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 27 (Bernama) -- The International Tourism, Art and Culture 2026 (INTAC 2026) programme, scheduled to take place from July 10 to 12 is expected to serve as a medium for cultural exchange, business opportunities, and positioning Malaysia as a global hub for the creative and cultural industries.

Themed “Bridging Cultures, Inspiring Trade”, the event will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) and serve as the nation’s premier international platform focusing on tourism, arts, and culture.

Dr. Leena Al-Mujaheed, CEO of WEX Malaysia Sdn Bhd, stated that INTAC 2026 aligns with the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VMY2026) campaign by bringing together industry leaders, creative innovators, cultural institutions, and international stakeholders.

“INTAC 2026 is not just about scale, numbers, or exhibitions. It's about creating long-term value, nurturing relationships between governments and businesses, between creators and investors, between cultures and markets.

“It's about shaping an ecosystem where innovation, creativity, and commerce grow together,” she said during the INTAC 2026 Pre-Launch Ceremony today that was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC), Chiew Choon Man.

The Deputy Minister expressed hope that key players in tourism, hospitality, arts, and creative industries would seize the opportunity to actively participate in INTAC 2026.

“INTAC 2026 is expected to welcome participants from 50 countries, featuring over 400 exhibitors and attracting approximately 50,000 local and international visitors. This will position INTAC as a true strategic global platform, showcasing destinations, innovations and industry excellence.

“Your involvement will not only strengthen the event, but also create valuable business networks, strategic collaborations and international brand exposure. The Government remains committed to support initiatives that foster public-private partnerships, strengthen industry ecosystems and generate long-term economic impact,” katanya.

During the ceremony, WEX Malaysia Sdn Bhd signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the company UHLED, witnessed by Chiew.

Supported by MOTAC and Tourism Malaysia, the event will feature various high-impact activities, including: Art exhibitions and tourism conferences, fashion shows and the INTAC 2026 Gala Night, Islamic artifact auctions and "Fun Run and Ride" event.

As a strategic component of the VMY2026 campaign, INTAC 2026 plays a vital role in promoting Malaysia’s tourism, cultural heritage, and creative industries on the global stage.
