SEREMBAN, Jan 29 (Bernama) -- An integrated operation by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) at a construction site in Nilai led to the arrest of 30 illegal immigrants yesterday.
Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said the raid under Ops Pintas Mega, was conducted by the Nilai District Police Headquarters (IPD) Criminal Investigation Division.
He added that of the 63 foreign workers checked at the site, half lacked valid travel documents.
"Thirty men, including 21 from China, two from Bangladesh, and seven from Myanmar, could not produce identification or work permits," he said in a statement today.
“They were taken to the Nilai IPD for further action,” he said, adding that efforts to trace the employers and responsible parties are ongoing.
The case is being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 (Act 155).
