KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 29 (Bernama) -- Renowned Indian classical vocalist T. M. Krishna will lead TM Krishna and Friends, a classical music concert that blends performance, dialogue and tradition at the Shantanand Auditorium here on Feb 21.

In a statement, organisers Aakaar Foundation and Roots Entertainment said the concert aims to celebrate Indian classical music as a living and evolving art form, while creating space for reflection, inquiry and renewed listening through collaboration on stage.

“The evening brings together classical music and dialogue, honouring deep-rooted traditions while encouraging audiences to engage with the art form in new and meaningful ways,” the statement said.

Krishna is widely recognised for his artistic integrity and for challenging conventional boundaries within the Carnatic tradition, both in India and internationally.

The concert will also feature Padma Shri awardee Kaleeshabi Mahboob Subhani on the nadaswaram, a powerful South Indian wind instrument, violinist Akkarai Sornalatha, tavil exponent T. R. Govindarajan, a barrel shaped South Indian drum and kanjira exponent Shri Sundar Kumar, who plays the small South Indian frame drum.

The event is supported by PR Events and the Natheswaram and Thavil Fine Arts Academy. TM Krishna and Friends will begin at 7.30 pm, and tickets are available for purchase via the Ticket2u platform.
