US Creating Its First Strategic Reserve Of Critical Minerals – Trump

WASHINGTON, Feb 3 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- United States (US) President Donald Trump said on Monday that the country is creating a strategic reserve of critical minerals for national defence, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.

“Just as we have long had a strategic petroleum reserve and a stockpile of critical minerals for national defence, we are now creating this reserve for American industry so we don’t have any problems.”

“This historic initiative will combine US$10 billion in export and import bank financing, with US$2 billion in private sector financing, and we even expect the American taxpayer to make a profit from the interest on the loan used to start the project vault," Trump said at the Oval Office.

The federal government approval is very important, he continued, saying that the US is signing major mineral deals with countries from all over the world, and there is successful cooperation.
