JASIN, Feb 11 (Bernama) -- The Melaka-level Semarak Ramadan 1447H Farmers' Market programme is being held at eight locations from today (Feb 11) to Feb 17. This is to help consumers, especially Muslims, in making early preparations for the fasting month.
State Investment, Industry, and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Development Committee deputy chairman Datuk Khaidirah Abu Zahar said that the programme is seen as facilitating consumers in obtaining basic necessities at reasonable prices.
“Additionally, visitors can obtain fresh agricultural produce, basic agricultural products, and Ramadan necessities directly from local producers at reasonable prices and with quality.
"The role of the Farmers' Market is very significant, and through initiatives like this, it not only helps local producers and traders increase their income but also reduces the burden of living costs for consumers," she said.
Khaidirah said this when met by reporters after officiating the Semarak Ramadan 1447H Farmers' Market programme at the state level at the Jasin Farmers' Market in Rim here today.
