KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 13 (Bernama) -- Decisions to terminate or extend the contracts of more than 20 Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) staff members were made in line with legal requirements, statutory authority, and established administrative procedures.
In a statement today, the UKM Corporate Communications Centre acknowledged recent media reports regarding the issue of staff dismissals and contract terminations.
The statement said that, as a public higher education institution committed to integrity, accountability, and good governance, UKM consistently adheres to the regulations and staff appointment guidelines set by the Public Service Department (JPA).
“Every decision is made in accordance with public service appointment procedures and job rotation processes, with professional and thorough consideration of the organisation’s needs and long-term sustainability,” the statement read.
UKM added that it will continue to focus on its responsibilities and mandate as one of Malaysia's leading public higher education institutions.
