Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin Visits UiTM Lecturers Injured In Fallen Tree Incident

SHAH ALAM, Feb 18 (Bernama) -- The Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor today visited two lecturers from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) who were injured in a fallen tree incident along Persiaran Tun Arshad Ayub in Section 7 here, two days ago.

Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, who is also UiTM Pro-Chancellor, arrived at the Shah Alam Hospital at  2.38 pm and was received by UiTM Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Shahrin Sahib @ Sahibuddin and Shah Alam Hospital director Dr Ruzita Othman.

During the meeting, Her Royal Highness enquired about the condition of the lecturers from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering, and presented tokens of appreciation while praying for their recovery.

Meanwhile, Shahrin said the condition of the two women, aged 39 and 42, was stable, and they were expected to be discharged within the next few days.

He said Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin also advised the two lecturers to rest well before resuming their duties.

“This is because they (lecturers) are worried. The new semester has ended, and the marking system needs to be carried out. However, we advised them to focus on their recovery.

“I express my utmost gratitude to Tengku Permaisuri for offering prayers for them to recover and return to work,” said Shahrin when met after visiting the two lecturers here today.

Previously, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Operations Division assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar was reported as saying that in the incident, the 39-year-old woman sustained injuries to her face and head, while the 42-year-old victim suffered injuries to her waist.
