Ramadan: Housewife Earns Income Using Khairul Aming’s Recipes

KUALA NERUS, Feb 25 (Bernama) — A housewife never imagined that trying out recipes by entrepreneur and social media influencer Khairul Amin Kamarulzaman, better known as Khairul Aming, would turn into a source of supplementary income for her.

Hazwani Hamdan, 36, said she was drawn to the recipes shared by Khairul Aming on Instagram because they were easy to prepare and looked appetising.

The mother of three said she initially cooked the dishes simply for her family, but was surprised by the attention she received from friends and acquaintances after sharing photos via WhatsApp.

“The first recipe I tried was plum sauce chicken. At first, I cooked it just for my family, but after sharing the photo on WhatsApp, many people started asking if they could place orders.

“After getting my husband’s consent, I began taking orders on the first day of Ramadan. Alhamdulillah, the response from friends and the local community has been very encouraging,” she said when met at her home in Seberang Takir today. — MORE

Hazwani said she currently limits orders to about 40 packs a day for two types of dishes due to time constraints and limited manpower.

She said the income from sales is modest, but it helps cover daily expenses and is also used to prepare for the upcoming Hari Raya next month.

“I’m also very excited that a video of my plum sauce chicken uploaded on social media has garnered nearly one million views.

“This further boosts my motivation to work harder, and perhaps one day I could be like Khairul Aming… God willing,” she said jokingly. — BERNAMA
