KUWAIT, March 7 (Bernama-BNA) -- Kuwait Armed Forces intercepted and destroyed 12 drones and 14 missiles fired from Iran since dawn on Friday, army spokesman Colonel Saud Al Atwan said.

Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported Kuwaiti Defence Ministry in a statement said the drones were intercepted in the north and central areas of the country, while the missiles were intercepted in southern areas.

Two of the missiles fell outside what was described as the threat zone.

The statement noted that the attacks caused only material damage as a result of falling shrapnel.

It added that explosions heard in different parts of the country were the result of air defence systems intercepting ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones.
