FRANKFURT, March 10 Bernama-(dpa) -- Germany's Lufthansa Group on Monday announced further cancellations for flights to destinations in West Asia, reported German Press Agency (dpa).
The German flag carrier and its airlines are suspending connections to Dammam, Dubai and Abu Dhabi until Sunday, March 15. Flights to Tel Aviv will remain suspended until Thursday, April 2.
Connections to Amman and Erbil have already been suspended until March 15, with flights to Beirut cancelled until March 28 and to Tehran until April 30.
Airports in Riyadh, Jeddah and Larnaca in Cyprus will operate as scheduled.
Lufthansa is also sending charter flights for stranded tourists on behalf of tour operators and the German government.
Another flight from Muscat in Oman is scheduled to land in Frankfurt on Tuesday morning.
The escalating conflict in West Asia has caused massive disruption to global transport systems, leaving tens of thousands of people stranded in the region.
