Wanita UMNO Special Committee To Look Into Implementation Of Rumah Bangsa

KOTA BHARU, March 10 (Bernama) -- Wanita UMNO will set up a special committee to review the detailed implementation of the 'Rumah Bangsa' concept at the wing level.

Wanita UMNO chief Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad said the committee's main goal is to coordinate unification initiatives and offer former members an avenue to rejoin the party.

"We will follow the framework implemented by UMNO Malaysia as the parent body. Once applications (to rejoin the party) are received, we will refer the matter to the central committee led by Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin," she told reporters after a breaking of fast event here tonight.

Noraini, who is also the Minister of Plantation and Commodities, said this when asked to comment on the women’s wing's reception of the 'Rumah Bangsa' initiative.

She added that former Wanita UMNO members have already begun initial discussions and sent applications to return to the party's struggle.

However, she said the committee is still reviewing the matter and has not yet made a final decision.
