KUALA LUMPUR, March 21 (Bernama) -- National bowler Timmy Tan produced an impressive performance to advance to the stepladder finals of the PBA Indiana Classic today (Friday, United States time).

Competing at David Small’s Pro Bowl West, the 31-year-old finished third in the qualifying round after knocking down 8,689 pins over 36 games.

Boog Krol topped the qualifying round with 8,765 pins, followed by Marshall Kent in second with 8,741 pins.

Ryan Barnes placed fourth with 8,678 pins, while EJ Tackett completed the top five on 8,661 pins.

Except for Timmy, all the other finalists are from the United States.

He expressed hope of clinching his maiden PBA Tour title, which would mark Malaysia’s second after Tun Hakim Tun Hasnul Azam’s historic breakthrough last year.

“Of course, I really want to win, and it would be a great achievement for Malaysia,” he said in a video shared by PBA today.

In the stepladder finals tomorrow, Timmy will face either Barnes or Tackett, who will meet in the opening match.
