JOHOR BAHRU, March 23 (Bernama) -- The water recreational facilities at the Johor Bahru City Council (MBJB) City Forest, which were opened today, received an overwhelming response with an estimated 4,599 visitors recorded at the park.
State Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor said in a Facebook post that visitors began arriving as early as 7 am at the park, which closes at 7 pm.
He said that of the total number, about 1,200 visitors made use of the water-based facilities, reflecting strong appreciation for attractive public recreational amenities.
“…it serves especially as a space for children to enjoy water play, for families to engage in leisure activities and for the community to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
“To ensure smooth operations and visitor safety, a total of 36 personnel have been deployed, comprising enforcement officers, park rangers, lifeguards, security personnel and cleaning staff,” he said.
He added that the presence of these personnel was crucial to ensure the area remained safe, orderly and clean.
“God willing, such facilities will continue to be enhanced in line with the Johor state government’s commitment under the leadership of Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi to increase people-friendly recreational spaces and improve the quality of life in urban areas across Johor,” he said.
