Maizura added that at the time of the 6 pm accident, Nurul Hafizah, an agent for a water and air filtration company, was travelling from Jerangau to Ajil, Hulu Terengganu with her four children.

She said the accident is believed to have occurred when the SUV driver lost control upon reaching the scene, veered into the opposite lane, struck a water pipe, and crashed into an electricity pole on the right side of the road.

She added that the bodies of the three victims were taken to Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah in Kuala Terengganu for post-mortem examinations.

“The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” she said.

Meanwhile, Nurul Hafizah’s younger brother, Mohd Saddam, 33, said the accident happened as she was returning to Ajil after attending their youngest sibling’s wedding here yesterday.

He said his sister had appeared cheerful and warm at the event, even sharing light-hearted moments with family members.

“I am deeply shocked and devastated to learn that my sister and her two children were killed in the accident just hours after we were together,” he said when contacted.
