IPOH, March 25 (Bernama) -- Following the encouraging response in eight states last year, the MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) continues this year with the injection of new elements aimed at bringing the government closer to the people.
The PMR 2026 secretariat in a statement announced that the programme offers direct service delivery initiatives as well as content that benefits the community, and will be opening its doors in the state of Perak Darul Ridzuan as the first location for the event.
“It will take place at Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah, Persiaran Meru, from April 3 to 5 2026 (Friday to Sunday).
“For the Perak edition, the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) acts as the lead ministry, while the Perak State Government be the host,” according to the statement.
The statement informed that the Prime Minister’s flagship programme is coordinated by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) through the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU) as the main secretariat in strategic collaboration with ministries/agencies and the state governments under the theme ‘Sustainable Cities, Quality Housing, Harmonious Communities’.
“PMR Perak 2026 expresses the government’s aspiration in creating integration between physical development and the well-being of the people through sustainable urban development, the provision of quality housing to improve the dignity of life and the formation of harmonious communities to ensure social stability as the backbone of national progress.
“This aspiration is also in line with the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Plan which also places emphasis on community well-being, housing and urban development,” the statement said.
Throughout the three-day event, the Perak PMR 2026 will offer various interesting contents including government services, people's well-being initiatives, health services, Jualan Rahmah MADANI and Jualan Agro MADANI.
Also implemented are employment programmes, food festivals and sales by local entrepreneurs, helmet exchange programmes, free motorcycle engine oil changes, free haircut services, distribution of seeds and saplings, defence and security asset exhibitions and various family activities.
In addition, the event this time also emphasises the active involvement of government-linked companies (GLCs) and the involvement of the local community in the organised programmes to expand the reach and benefits to the people.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to officiate on April 4 (Saturday), reflecting the government's commitment to continue to go to the ground, thus providing the people with the opportunity to meet face to face with the country's highest leadership.
The public is invited to take advantage of various services and interesting activities throughout the programme which will be held from 9 am to 10 pm on Friday and Saturday, while on Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm.
