KANGAR, March 25 (Bernama) -- A Solat Al-Istisqa’ (prayer for rain) will be held at Dataran Istiadat, Istana Arau at 8 am tomorrow.
The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, advised congregants to use umbrellas when walking from their vehicles to the venue, bring their own prayer mats, and perform ablution at home.
“Worshippers are also advised to take care of their health by wearing face masks if they have underlying health conditions,” he said in a statement issued by the Perlis Council of Islamic Religious and Malay Customs (MAIPs) today.
Meanwhile, His Royal Highness, who is also MAIPs president, said that at mosques across the state, Dua Al-Istisqa’ will be incorporated into Friday sermons prepared by the State Mufti Department beginning March 27, until further notice from the State Islamic Affairs Department (JAIPs).
Enquiries regarding the implementation of the prayer can be directed to JAIPs via its hotline or through private messages on MAIPs’ Facebook page, he added.
Separately, MetMalaysia reported in a Facebook update that, as of 6 am today, 16 areas in Peninsular Malaysia, including Perlis, are at Level 1 (Alert) under the current hot weather status.
