Three Premises On Pulau Perhentian Razed

JERTIH, March 26 (Bernama) -- Three premises located near a resort on Pulau Perhentian here were destroyed in a fire early this morning.

Besut district police chief Supt Mohd Rozaime Ab Rahim said his team received information about the incident at 4.25 am.

“The fire is believed to have started from a business premises owned by a local trader before spreading to a snorkelling service shop and grocery store.

"Preliminary investigations found that all the wooden premises, along the beach, were completely razed, but no casualties were reported," he said in a statement today.

He added that the cause of the fire is still under investigation by the relevant authorities.
