TANJONG MALIM, March 28 (Bernama) -- The Perak state government will develop 340 Rumah Perakku units in Kota Prima here, with full completion targeted for next year.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said the housing project, spanning 14.58 hectares, will be carried out in two phases.
“Phase one will include 199 units of 48 Rumah Perakku I, 38 Rumah Perakku II and 113 Rumah Perakku III.
“Phase two will consist of 141 single-storey terrace houses, bringing the total to 340 units. Each unit will have a built-up area of about 800 square feet, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms,” he said after officiating the Rumah Perakku Kota Malim Prima launch here today.
Saarani said the units are priced from RM90,000 to RM250,000, reflecting the state government’s commitment to ensuring affordable homes remain within reach of the B40 and M40 groups.
He noted that the development is in line with the emergence of Muallim district as a national automotive hub under the Automotive High-Tech Valley, which is expected to boost housing demand and drive local economic growth.
“The project is strategically located, about six kilometres from Proton City and 6.8 kilometres from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, making it an attractive and high-potential residential area,” he said.
He added that the state government will continue to intensify efforts to expand Rumah Perakku developments in other strategic locations, ensuring more people have the opportunity to own homes in line with the state’s inclusive housing policy.
