Fisherman Feared Drowned After Falling Off Boat In Hutan Melintang

IPOH, March 31 (Bernama) -- A fisherman is feared to have drowned after he fell off his boat while trying to check on his propeller at Lot 125B (Pelantar 10) Hutan Melintang, near Bagan Datuk this afternoon.

The Bagan Datuk district Civil Defence Force (CDF) operations control centre said they received a call from the Bagan Datuk district police headquarters about the missing fisherman Pee Kian Kok, 55, at 4.26 pm.

“A team was mobilised to the scene of the incident for observation and at 6.20 pm a CDF control post was set up, and members continued to check on the location. No search operation was conducted due to weather factors (rain),” the centre said in a statement tonight.

Operations were suspended at 7.30 pm and would resume at 8 am tomorrow, it added.
