Fisherman Dies After Boat Collision At Kuala Sungai Mangkok

BANDAR PERMAISURI, April 4 (Bernama) -- A fisherman was killed after the boat he was on collided with another vessel at the Kuala Sungai Mangkok estuary here this morning.

The victim, Mohd Adli Zakaria, 53, was thrown to the rear of the boat and lost consciousness.

Setiu police chief Supt Mohd Zain Mat Dris said the incident occurred at about 6.15am when the victim’s boat, which had departed from Kampung Baru Penarik jetty to catch prawns, collided with another boat coming from the opposite direction.

He said the victim was taken back to the jetty and was confirmed dead by medical personnel.

The body was sent to the Forensic Unit of Setiu Hospital for a post-mortem.
