Dr Ling's Passing A Great Loss To The Nation - Ahmad Zahid

KUALA LUMPUR, April 4 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has expressed his condolences over the passing of former transport minister Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik, describing it as a great loss to the nation.

He said the late leader would be remembered as a figure who served with dedication, particularly in developing the country’s transport sector and strengthening educational institutions that continue to benefit present generations.

Ahmad Zahid said that Dr Ling had demonstrated deep commitment and love for the country and the party, especially during his time in Barisan Nasional (BN).

“His (Dr Ling’s) services and contributions will remain etched in history and be remembered by all Malaysians.

“To the family of the late Dr Ling, I pray that they are granted strength and resilience in facing this moment of sorrow. The nation mourns with you,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Dr Ling, 82, who was also MCA honorary life president, passed away this morning.

The former MCA president was among the longest-serving veteran politicians in the Cabinet.
