JOHOR BAHRU, April 8 (Bernama) -- Police arrested three foreign men and seized various types of duty-unpaid liquor worth about RM952,000 in a raid at Taman Utama, Pekan Nenas, last Saturday.
Fifth Battalion General Operations Force (GOF) commanding officer Supt Salehin Sulaiman said the raid, conducted at about 12 noon, was carried out by a team under Ops Taring Alpha 2.
He said inspections at the premises, believed to be used as a storage facility, led to the arrest of the three aged between 24 and 33.
“A brown Proton Exora and a large quantity of liquor of various brands, believed to be duty-unpaid, were also seized,” he said in a statement today.
Among the items confiscated were hundreds of boxes of liquor, including brands such as McDowell, Club99, King Robert II and Signature Rare Whiskey, in various bottle sizes.
He added that the syndicate used the premises as a storage point before distributing the liquor to the Pontian district based on orders.
