KUALA LUMPUR, April 8 (Bernama) -- Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK) has announced a leadership transition within its Board of Directors, with Fauziah Hisham appointed as chairman.
In a statement, AKPK said the appointment took effect on April 6, with Fauziah succeeding Anuar Mohd Hassan, whose tenure concluded in March.
“Fauziah assumes the chairmanship with extensive leadership experience and a strong understanding of AKPK’s mandate and institutional responsibilities.
“Her appointment reflects the Board’s commitment to continuity, sound governance and the continued advancement of AKPK’s role in strengthening the financial resilience of households and SMEs,” the statement said.
In addition to Fauziah’s appointment, AKPK also welcomed Datuk Dr Nora Manaf and Tan Siow Ming as new members of its Board.
According to AKPK, Nora, an independent director of MBSB Group and chairman of Manaf Gardner Associates, brings deep expertise in human capital, leadership and corporate governance, while Tan has over 30 years of distinguished experience in corporate strategy, transformation, and advisory.
“He is a former executive board member and senior partner of PwC Malaysia, and currently serves as executive chairman of Trinitaz Capital Partners, while also sitting on the Board of UEM Group Berhad,” the statement added.
AKPK recorded its deepest appreciation to Anuar for his leadership and service as chairman since September 2018, noting that his tenure strengthened the agency’s institutional capabilities, enhanced its digital delivery, and supported Malaysians through a period of significant economic and financial uncertainty.
As AKPK marks its 20th anniversary in April 2026, the agency remains steadfast in advancing the financial resilience of Malaysians.
