GEORGE TOWN, April 8 (Bernama) -- The Penang Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has advised the public not to panic following reports of fuel supply disruptions at several petrol stations in the state.

Its director S.Jegan said only one oil company, Shell, had reported a temporary supply disruption following a delay in the arrival of a delivery ship compared to the original schedule.

"Therefore, Shell is taking appropriate steps to address this issue.

"The results of a meeting also found that other brand petrol stations did not experience any problems and fuel can still be obtained easily," he said in a statement today.

Jegan said that so far, his party has only received one report involving a petrol station facing problems with the supply of RON95 while another five stations were affected in terms of diesel supply, all involving Shell petrol stations.

Earlier, a story went viral on social media about several petrol stations in Penang allegedly experiencing fuel supply problems, thus sparking concerns among consumers.
