KUALA LUMPUR, April 10 (Bernama) -- The Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (JAWI) today received RM100,000 in donations from the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia to support communities in need.

In a statement today, JAWI said the contribution was presented by the Minister of the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia, Zheng Xuefang, to JAWI Director Hanifuddin Roslan, and witnessed by Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Marhamah Rosli.

“The donation is part of a strategic collaboration established since 2020, with total contributions to date reaching RM900,000 channelled through the JAWI Food Bank initiative,” the statement said.

JAWI said the funds will benefit the asnaf, the poor, the homeless, single mothers and persons with disabilities (PwDs), in line with the aspirations of the MADANI Malaysia framework, which emphasises social well-being across all segments of society.

The department also highlighted its ongoing efforts to reach communities through a “dakwah bil hal” approach, focusing on social development and the overall well-being of the ummah.

According to JAWI, the continued collaboration reflects strong international solidarity and the close ties between Malaysia and China, while also promoting mutual understanding and harmony through community-focused initiatives.
