KUALA LUMPUR, April 12 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) won seven international innovation awards at the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) 2026, held from April 9 to 11.
The awards were secured through its participation in two platforms: Public Service Innovation Asia (PSIA) and the International Innovation Awards (IIA).
In a statement on Sunday, MRB said the achievement underscored its commitment to driving the transformation of Malaysia’s rubber industry towards sustainability and digitalisation, in line with global aspirations.
Under the PSIA category, MRB secured two gold awards for the MSNR Trace system and the Malaysian Rubber Exchange (MRE) application, as well as a silver award for RRIM RubberHub.
In the IIA category, MSNR Trace also received the Best Innovation Award alongside a gold award, while RRIM RubberHub won a silver award, and the MRE application took bronze.
MRB said MSNR Trace is a traceability system that monitors the rubber supply chain from plantation to end-product, ensuring compliance with global sustainability standards and deforestation-free requirements.
“The MRE application serves as the official digital platform for the rubber market, providing real-time pricing and facilitating trade transactions.
“RRIM RubberHub, meanwhile, bridges the gap between research and field implementation through digital technology transfer, helping to boost productivity and smallholders’ incomes,” it said.
