Federal Government Allocates Over RM40 Million For Sejati MADANI Projects In Melaka

ALOR GAJAH, April 16 (Bernama) -- The federal government has allocated RM40.28 million for the implementation of Sejati MADANI projects in Melaka since 2024.

Melaka Deputy Director of the Coordination and Implementation Unit (ICU) of the Prime Minister's Department (JPM), Afzai Nizam Sandiman, said the allocation comprised RM25.39 million in 2024, RM14.88 million in 2025 and RM2.5 million this year.

“To date, we have received a total of 1,013 applications, with 743 approvals granted over the two years of implementation.

“In 2024, 254 communities submitted 489 project applications, while in 2025, 149 communities were involved with 254 applications,” he told Bernama.

Afzai Nizam said Melaka Tengah recorded the highest number of applications over the past two years, with 178 submissions, followed by Alor Gajah (121) and Jasin (104).

He added that the focus this year will be on youth associations, in line with the federal government’s efforts to empower young people through entrepreneurship initiatives that can generate income for their respective organisations.

Previously, Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari was reported as saying that RM250 million has been allocated nationwide this year under the Sejati MADANI Project specifically for youth associations.
