SHAH ALAM, April 16 (Bernama) -- J&T Express Malaysia marked a major milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony of its largest self-built sorting centre in Malaysia, located in IJM Rimbayu, yesterday.
In a statement today, the courier company said the project reflects the company’s continued efforts to strengthen Malaysia’s logistics infrastructure supporting future industry growth and creating more than 2,000 job opportunities for the local community.
Developed on a fully owned 30-acre site with a total investment of more than RM300 million, the new facility, known as The Hub, is strategically developed to support the continued expansion of Malaysia’s courier and e-commerce sectors.
“It will incorporate state-of-the-art automation and intelligent logistics systems to enhance parcel safety, improve sorting accuracy, and increase overall operational efficiency,” the statement said.
Vice President of J&T Express Malaysia Vincent Low said The Hub is more than just an infrastructure project as it reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to future growth, operational excellence and long-term value creation.
He added that the facility is expected to reduce delivery lead times by around 15% and supporting up to 4 million parcels daily, contributing to the company’s long-term nationwide target of 10 million shipments.
“We want to assure our business partners that J&T is continuously evolving, growing stronger and preparing itself for the opportunities ahead,” he said in his officiating remarks, at the groundbreaking ceremony which also attended by representatives from key project partners and consultants.
Meanwhile, J&T Express Malaysia Public Affairs and Branding Manager Steve Yap emphasised the project’s role in meeting growing demand within the logistics ecosystem.
“The Hub will serve as a key logistics backbone for J&T’s operations in Klang Valley, supporting the needs of 96 business partners and 135 outlets. This devlopment enables us to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of Malaysia’s logistics industry,” he said.
Since entering the Malaysian market in 2018, J&T Express Malaysia has steadily expanded its logistics network by offering a broad range of customer-focused services, including Cash on Delivery (COD), Delivery Fee on Delivery (DFOD), and Next Day Delivery (NDD).
In addition, J&T Express provides J&T Super, a premium courier service designed for faster deliveries with priority handling as well as free VIP integration, expedited claims processing, real-time tracking and free pickup service without minimum quantity via the J&T Malaysia App.
Today, the company operates more than 1400 self collection and drop-off points, 10 sorting centres, and is supported by a workforce of over 35,000 employees.
