PUTRAJAYA, April 27 (Bernama) -- The implementation of all programmes and strategies by the 14 agencies under the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) is closely monitored, with improvements to be carried out immediately if any shortcomings are detected, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan.

He said all these agencies, including the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), Tabung Haji, the Syariah Judiciary Department Malaysia, and Yayasan Waqaf Malaysia, already have their strategies covering short, medium and long-term planning, with the focus now on monitoring how effective these strategies are and the results of their implementation.

“Alhamdulillah, we have already implemented several initiatives and strategies across the country, carried out by staff from the 14 agencies who have given exceptional cooperation and support.

“Today, we are assessing what we have implemented in terms of impact, effectiveness, and what the people can actually feel on the ground. Alhamdulillah, the campaigns and efforts we have carried out have already begun to show results,” he told reporters after attending the Monthly Agencies Assembly at the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) here today.

He said those achievements have also put the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) ahead in several administrative areas, while urging everyone not to be complacent and to keep strengthening service delivery.

Zulkifli said the focus for the future is not only on delivering the best services to the people, but also on shaping the public's perspective so that society truly understands Islam.

“And today I have also shared a message in video form. I want to urge all staff in the department to become storytellers, to help shape the narrative of the civilisation and the Malaysia we want, especially in terms of the true understanding of Islam in Malaysia,” he said.

Earlier, Zulkifli launched the “Tiada Visa, Tiada Haji” compliance campaign and #MadaniMembantu, as well as attended a talk on 'Geopolitik dan Dunia Islam’ by Prof Dr Mohd Afandi Salleh from Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin’s (UniSZA) Faculty of Law and International Relations Prof Dr Mohd Afandi Salleh.
