KUALA LUMPUR, April 27 (Bernama) -- HERE Technologies and KOTEI have announced a strategic co-development partnership to build next-generation artificial intelligence (AI)-native navigation and in-vehicle software solutions for software-defined vehicles (SDVs).

The partnership combines HERE’s AI-powered live map technology with KOTEI’s automotive software capabilities to develop navigation and intelligent driving systems designed for smarter, more connected mobility solutions.

In a statement, HERE said the joint solution, built on the company’s software development kit (SDK) and a streamlined global map architecture, is intended to support efficient deployment of AI-driven navigation functions in SDVs.

As part of the collaboration, KOTEI will embed AI agents into navigation systems to enhance search logic, interpret driver intent and integrate HERE’s global points-of-interest database across more than 200 countries and territories.

The technology is designed to move navigation beyond route selection toward more intuitive and context-aware decision support that adapts to driving habits and real-world conditions.

Beyond navigation, the partnership will also focus on co-innovation in smart cockpits, intelligent driving systems, autonomous driving components, central computing platforms, and vehicle operating systems and middleware.

By combining real-time location intelligence with automotive system architecture expertise, the companies aim to help automakers accelerate development of globally scalable, cloud-connected and AI-augmented vehicle platforms.

The collaboration builds on an existing production deployment in which KOTEI has developed in-vehicle navigation solutions for one of China’s top 10 automakers using the HERE SDK.

The solution has already been deployed across the automaker’s vehicle lineup, providing a foundation for broader global applications.
