Negeri Sembilan Political Problems Will Be Resolved Politically - Ahmad Zahid

CYBERJAYA, April 28 (Bernama) -- The political turmoil in Negeri Sembilan will be resolved through political channels in full compliance with the State Constitution and State Legislative Assembly Standing Orders, according to UMNO President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

The Deputy Prime Minister, who is also Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman, said any resolution must be handled in an orderly manner and in accordance with established procedures to ensure state administrative stability is not disrupted.

“I hope we adhere to the Negeri Sembilan State Constitution and the State Legislative Assembly Standing Orders. In my view, this is not a simple matter, and the best course is to follow all existing rules and regulations.”

He said this when asked after officiating the 54th Enforcement Day Celebration of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) and the launch of the National Consumer Policy 2.0, here today.

Ahmad Zahid stressed that UMNO and BN would not interfere in matters related to the state’s administration and customary laws, but would instead seek the best solution to ensure the government continues to function and serve the people.

“Political problems will be resolved politically, not through other means, and we will not interfere in the administration of the state government or its customary laws,” he said.

Yesterday, all 14 UMNO and BN assemblymen in Negeri Sembilan unanimously withdrew support for the state government led by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, citing loss of confidence due to the ongoing leadership crisis.
