KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 (Bernama) -- Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) has partnered with the Dutch government agency, the Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI), to integrate CBI’s European Market Intelligence (MI) resources into the MADANI Digital Trade Platform (MDTP) under a digital partnership programme.

CBI, which is part of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency and commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, supports small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by providing training, market information, and advisory services to help improve product quality and meet European standards.

MATRADE chief executive officer Abu Bakar Yusof said the initiative aims to empower Malaysian SMEs and exporters with critical market insights to support their expansion into European markets.

“(It is also) to gain access to reliable and high-quality market information pertinent to SMEs seeking international growth. By giving access to European market intelligence, we will reinforce Malaysian SMEs’ capabilities to export value-added and niche products to Europe,” he said in a statement.

Through this partnership, MDTP will serve as a key business support hub, delivering these insights directly to Malaysian businesses.

The collaboration leverages CBI’s Market Information iframe technology to embed a simplified version of its platform directly within MDTP, enabling users to conveniently access extensive market research without leaving the platform.

Addressing the need for timely and relevant data, CBI’s MI service offers comprehensive, up-to-date analysis of European market trends, requirements and opportunities, said MATRADE.

It said the initiative also provides access to a robust library of resources, including approximately 250 market studies, 30 news updates and 25 webinars produced annually, focusing on key sectors such as agriculture, consumer products and services.

Through this enhanced access, SMEs can gain valuable insights into high-potential European markets for specific products and services, effective market entry strategies and distribution channels, regulatory requirements and compliance standards, and methods to identify and connect with potential buyers in Europe.
