KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 (Bernama) -- Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) generated RM1.67 billion in socio-economic value through its key development entities between 2021 and 2025, highlighting the agency’s expanding impact in driving Bumiputera development.

MARA Director-General Datuk Zulfikri Osman said the milestone reflects the effectiveness of its integrated approach anchored on education, entrepreneurship and investment.

He said GIATMARA recorded over 36,000 trainees, contributing RM1.44 billion in socio-economic value, while Yayasan Pelajaran MARA (YPM) benefitted 280,903 individuals with a value of RM235 million.

“These figures demonstrate how MARA’s investments are translated into tangible socio-economic outcomes that directly benefit the rakyat,” he told a press conference at the World Trade Centre (WTC) here today.

Zulfikri said the agency’s 60th anniversary celebration further strengthened its strategic positioning through collaboration with industry players.

He said 12 Synergy Sessions held over the five-day event led to more than 30 formal document exchanges, including Memoranda of Understanding (MoU), Letters of Intent (LoI) and Letters of Agreement (LoA).

The event also saw the launch of 12 new products, services and strategic initiatives involving nine MARA subsidiaries across multiple sectors.
